Low Wage Worker Campaigns

We join in partnership with low-wage
workers in their efforts to obtain
living wages, affordable healthcare and
dignity in the workplace. We work to call businesses to moral accountability and to bring visibility to the struggles of impoverished workers. We also educate the local faith community about ways they can be involved in supporting sustainable jobs from the basis of their faith.

Immigration

Our nation’s immigration system is broken and in need of reform. Millions of undocumented people live in the shadows, face exploitation in the workplace, separation from their families, dashed dreams and the inability to fully contribute to the economy. CLUE
Orange County is working in immigrant
and mainstream evangelical communities
to awaken hearts to the plight of the
immigrant, to deepen our biblical
understanding of God’s love for the
stranger, and to be a public witness
for immigration policies that reflect our
values to love, care for, and seek justice for
the stranger among us.

Public Education

We believe that every student deserves access to a quality education, and this is a critical step towards achieving economic justice in California. Over the past four years, Orange County's schools have slashed a combined $800 million from budgets. Class sizes are increasing and there are unmanageable per-pupil ratios. By some measures, California’s education spending is at its lowest level in 40 years. California’s schools will face significant challenges to closing the gap. We need adequate resources, good policies, and community engagement in our schools to improve our education system.Education.htmlEducation.htmlshapeimage_8_link_0
Anaheim Poverty Task Force

The Anaheim Poverty Task Force was formed in 2008 by CLUE OC and Orange County Congregation Community Organization (OCCCO) as a faith based response to homelessness and poverty in Anaheim. 42,849 Anaheim residents live below the federal poverty level (FPL), constituting 13.1% of the city’s population. The Anaheim Poverty Task Force has developed a 5-Year Plan to Address Homelessness that is based on the County’s 10-year Plan to End Homelessness. We are working to develop a partnership with the city of Anaheim, asking them to take leadership in our County, making this issue a priority.
